We are very thankful to the Granby Community Fund and the residents of Granby for their support of the McLean Meals on Wheels program. The Granby Community Fund solicits donations from Granby residents to then give as grants to local non-profits that serve residents of the Town of Granby.

Cultured meat

I recently learned an Israeli company, Future Meat Technologies, has slashed production costs for cultured meat and hopes to bring it to the United States in the next year and a half. For those who don’t know, cultured meat is grown from cells, without slaughter.

REGISTRARS: Sept. 14 primary, maybe

The Republican and Democratic Town Committees will meet in July to nominate candidates to stand for office in the Nov. 2 municipal election. The Republican caucus is scheduled for Thursday, July 22 at 7 p.m. in the Granby Senior Center Community Room.

Registrars Calendar Review

Absentee Ballot Applications are being collected now by the Town Clerk for those who know they will be away from home on Sept. 14 and/or Nov. 2. The form is available at Town Hall or on the web at sots.ct.gov

GRANBY BOARD OF EDUCATION REPORTS

Word was received from the State Department of Education that remote learning will not be mandated in the 2021-2022 school year. All families have been notified.
