Zooming in on town activities

Town Hall, although not open as usual, is conducting business. It seems all departments have adjusted to the times, and permits are being issued, births and deaths recorded and the administrative duties fulfilled—just differently.

Elaine Jones (1937-2020)

The Drummer and the town of Granby are saddened to learn that Elaine Jones passed away on March 6, 2020, after a long illness. Elaine made Granby her home for 57 years with Jim, her husband of 53 years.

LAFD comes to the rescue with Easter Bunny parade

With Easter egg hunts cancelled because of the Covid-19 scare, volunteers with the Lost Acres Fire Department requested families to sign up to have the Easter Bunny drive by their homes.

Ban fur sales

The North American fur industry kills 4 million animals every year, according to Humane Society International. Connecticut can do its part to end this barbarism by following California’s lead and banning fur sales and manufacturing.

Bear-resistant barrels

Regarding the April 2020 issue of The Granby Drummer, page 3, Minutes of the March 2, 2020 BOS meeting, I see that 54 bear-resistant trash barrels will cost $13,708.
