It is hard to believe that the 2022–23 school year is almost halfway complete.
As part of its 50th reunion, the GMHS class of ‘72 was given a tour of the high school by students from the National Honor Society. To thank them for their efforts, the class donated $1,000 to the student scholarship fund on Nov. 3.
In the fast-paced rush of today’s world, one constant remains at the center of the community in Granby— the Granby Public Library. For decades, the library has served as a valuable resource for curious learners of all ages: a place to peruse its shelves in hopes of finding a new book to enjoy, access the internet, or stop by to catch up with friends over a game of chess.
Highlights from the meeting held on October 12th, 2022
Congratulations to the Granby Rovers U15 Girls team for winning its division at the Capitol Cup Tournament in Concord, N.H. on Oct. 8-9. This was the team’s first tournament out of state since 2019, and everyone was excited to play against new teams and have some fun.
Every fall, the Granby Board of Selectmen appoints a student representative from Granby Memorial High School to attend meetings and give updates on the happenings at the school. This year, that representative is junior Chas Orluk.
For years, the eighth grade Washington, D.C. trip was a rite of passage for Granby Memorial Middle School students. For many, it was the first time away from home and the first time visiting our nation’s capital. Many alumni have fond memories of trips to Washington, D.C, and still have the souvenir picture that each student received of their class on the U.S. Capitol steps.
