The next Granby Men’s Breakfast e-Group is Friday, April 9. The guest speaker will be Rick Orluk, president of the Granby Land Trust, who will speak to us about its most recent property, Dismal Brook Preserve.

The East Granby Library will host a virtual talk with Martha Hall Kelly on Tuesday, April 27, at 7 p.m. Sunflower Sisters, Kelly’s latest novel in the series that includes Lilac Girls and Lost Roses, continues the story of her ancestors. Georgeanna Woolsey, a nurse who joins the war effort for the Union during the War Between the States, crosses paths with Jemma, a young enslaved girl sold off and conscripted into the army, and with Ann-May Wilson, a southern plantation mistress.
For the second consecutive year, the Salmon Brook Historical Society has cancelled its spring flea market due to the coronavirus pandemic. Following the Governor’s guidelines and to protect our volunteers as well as the public, the society reached this difficult decision.
