The Senior Center Adventure Club is sponsoring an exciting Dragon Boat program on Friday, Aug. 24.
First Church of Granby is hosting its annual Strawberry Supper on Saturday, June 9, at 219 North Granby Road, in Cook Hall. There will be two sittings, at 5 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Proceeds will go towards the mission of First Church in the community and in the world.
Valley Brook Community Church is offering three camps this summer for children age 4 through 12. All camps are held at Valley Brook’s campus, 160 Granville Road (Route 189), North Granby.
Students of the Windy Hill Guitar Studio of Granby will present a program of classical guitar solo and ensemble-repertoire at 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 14, at the East Granby Public Library, 24 Center Street, East Granby. The performance is free and open to the public but registration is recommended.
The Salmon Brook Historical Society is located at 208 Salmon Brook Street. Exhibits this summer include something for everyone.

Granby Land Trust volunteers have been hard at work readying the GLT’s new Seth and Lucy Holcombe Preserve for its official opening to the public on Connecticut Trails Day (June 3). The 154-acre property was bequeathed to the GLT by Seth and Lucy Holcombe, two loyal and generous friends of the Land Trust who shared a love of nature, a passion for outdoor recreation and a commitment to land preservation.
Queen of Omelets: Wednesday, May 2, 1 p.m. Simsbury resident John E. Finn, author of The Perfect Omelet: Essential Recipes for the Home Cook, talks about the process of writing his definitive book on the iconic omelet. The book is full of practical wisdom about omelets, cooking and life.
The Granby UNICO Club will host its annual pasta dinner on Friday, May 4, on Manitook Lake at 70 Lakeside Drive, with continuous open seating from 5 to 8 p.m. The public is invited to enjoy a great home-cooked Italian meal featuring penne pasta with sauce, meatballs, sausage, salad, fresh bread and beverages. Dessert is a make-your-own ice cream sundae with ice cream donated by Grass Roots.
