Unless this is the first edition of the Drummer you are holding in your hands, you have certainly seen the work of Granby photographer Jay Harder. His photos of town sports, seasons and milestones like graduation appear frequently in this paper and various locations around town.
The Third Annual Granby Puzzle Slam attracted a record high 256 competitors on Saturday, Jan. 31 at Granby Memorial Middle School, 100 more contestants than assembled at the first year of the Drummer’s only recurring fundraising event.
Each year, Terry Spak hosts friends and family at the Puzzle Slam. This year, she offered to move her group of 64 puzzlers to the cafeteria so that additional teams could compete in the gym.
While the Drummer continues to be embraced by the town, communal puzzling can be a support to the residents, as well.
