The Bruce Porter Memorial Music Series for 2018-2019 will open on Sunday, Nov. 4, at 4 p.m. with pianist Benita Rose and saxophonist Tony Gibbs presenting classical music played on an instrument customarily associated with jazz.

With that in mind, we have launched a new initiative, The Lifetime Learning Academy.
On Monday, Oct. 8, from 6 to 8 p.m., Guiding Eyes for the Blind will showcase its guide dogs in training at an open house at the First Congregational Church, 219 North Granby Road.
