Appreciation for Granby Library
We are so grateful for our Granby Public Library! The first thing we did after moving here in 2019 was get a library card. Why? Because the library is the heart of our community!
Storytime gave us the perfect reason to start meeting other families. As our family grew, the library grew with us. A weekly story time has expanded into an incredible variety of children’s programs, including music and movement, STEAM activities, arts and crafts, animal programs, kindergarten readiness class and more! They’re always adding something new and exciting, allowing our kids to explore current interests and discover new ones!
Our library’s impact extends far beyond children’s programming. The addition of the makerspace opened up a world of creative possibilities for adults, allowing me to try things I never imagined—like 3D printing or laser engraving. I’ve discovered creativity and problem-solving skills that I never knew I had. The Library of Things allowed me to borrow equipment that I wouldn’t have otherwise had an opportunity to use.
I love seeing the library showcase the talents and contributions of local organizations, from elementary school artwork to the Granby Artist Association, Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts derby cars, pieces of local history from the Marquis of Granby or the Salmon Brook Historical Society. Through books, music, movies, ebooks, online resources, the seed library and so much more, our Granby Libraries provide something truly special: a connection to one another, our town and to the wider world around us.

The Granby Public Library is a very special place for me. I enjoy going to the library and checking out tons of books. You can find almost every topic and genre there is at the library. For example, when I was four I loved books about the solar system, trucks and much more. Growing up, I spent a lot of time playing with the trains, blocks and now chess. Now, at age 12, I love hiking books and realistic fiction such as The Outsiders and Where the Red Fern Grows. It’s great to borrow puzzles for a fun boredom buster. There are many fun programs through the library. It’s an awesome place to find information for research. An expansion would be marvelous for the community, as I am in full support of this project.

Support for Bronin
I am proud to support Luke Bronin for Congress in the August primary because he brings the kind of experience and principled leadership our country urgently needs.
Throughout his career, Luke has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to public service. As former mayor of Hartford, he led Connecticut’s capital city through significant fiscal challenges and expanded opportunities for residents. His service in senior state government roles and at the U.S. Treasury has given him deep expertise in law, finance, and public policy. As a veteran, he understands firsthand the meaning of service and sacrifice.
At a time when too many Americans are struggling with the rising cost of living, Luke is focused on the issues that matter most to Connecticut families: affordability, economic opportunity, protecting Social Security and Medicare, expanding access to health care and making quality childcare and eldercare more accessible and affordable.
Luke values integrity, results and public service over special interests. He has been a strong advocate for reducing the influence of money in politics and restoring trust in government. In an era marked by corruption, cruelty, and disregard for the rule of law, Connecticut needs leaders with the courage to defend our democratic institutions and deliver results.
Luke Bronin has the experience, vision, and character to serve Connecticut well in Congress. I urge my fellow residents to join me in supporting him in the August primary.

On Aug. 11, a primary election will be held to choose a candidate to represent us in the US Congress. I support Luke Bronin to be the Democratic candidate to the US Congress and hope others will vote for him as well.
Luke Bronin has already chalked up an amazing record of accomplishment. He served as a Navy intelligence officer in Afghanistan before joining President Obama’s US Treasury Department where he worked to protect Americans from predatory lending and financial abuse.
He was the mayor of Hartford for eight years and tackled the city’s biggest challenges, pulling it away from likely bankruptcy and stabilized the city’s finances. While mayor, Luke brought thousands of new and rehabilitated housing units into the market to help address Hartford’s housing crisis.
While I appreciate the 28 years of service that John Larson has given to us as our congressman, I feel now is the time for change. We need new energy and new ideas. Luke Bronin has a clear record of focusing on the affordability issues most pressing today and he is focused on the issues I care about—universal healthcare, clean energy, climate change and better public schools. Luke is committed to serving each town in the district, even small ones like Granby, and work on their unique issues.
On Aug. 11, we have the chance to choose a new voice to represent Granby and 1st Congressional district in Congress. I will be voting for Luke Bronin.
