The Granby Farmers Market is making a comeback at a new location right in the center of town. Community members will be able to get their fresh produce directly from farmers, as well as purchase local crafts, soaps and more while enjoying incredible live music and participating in special events. The market will run every Tuesday this summer from 3 to 6 p.m. beginning on June 7 and ending on August 30 at South Congregational Church.
Local college students, Amanda Zyzdorf and Danielle Sturgeon, recognized the need for an easier way to access the wonderful goods that local businesses and farmers have to offer, so they have been working diligently to get the farmers market going. With the enthusiastic support of South Congregational Church, the market is set to become a great success. The goal is for the market to educate shoppers about the farms that grow their food, give them an opportunity to speak with local craftsmen, enjoy music by fantastic local performers, and provide a place for members of the community to get to know one another and encourage them to live a healthy lifestyle.
The Granby Farmers Market seeks vendors, performers and volunteers. To contact the organizers, send an email to granbymarket@gmail.com. The Granby Farmers Market’s Facebook page is well maintained, so give them a “like” to keep up with the details as they are released!
