VBCC welcomes new staff

In the past year, while starting an online campus and navigating the challenges of serving the congregation and community during the pandemic, Valley Brook Community Church hired two new staff members. Peter Gove was hired as the new Facilities Manager, and Patrick Fitzgerald was hired as the new Worship Arts Director.

Trolley Museum offers fall fun

As the fall chill fills the air, and on the darkest of nights, mournful cries of the abandoned dead are heard on the tracks at the Connecticut Trolley Museum in East Windsor. Come for a scare if you dare! 

Craft Fair

The 27th Annual Holly Boutique Craft Fair and Luncheon will be held at the North Canton Community United Methodist Church Hall, Case Street (Routes 179 and 3) in North Canton on Oct. 14 through 16.

New pedestrian law enacted

An Act Concerning Pedestrian Safety (Public Act 21-28) became effective in Connecticut on Oct. 1. There are two key elements to the new law.

4-H Sign-up

Granby 4-H sign-up night is planned for Wednesday, Oct. 6 at Holcomb Farm Workshop. This open house from 7 to 8 p.m. will introduce the youth-officer team, leaders and project groups available for the 2021-2022 program year.

Invasive Action Day

Granby’s next Invasive Action Day to remove invasive plants and plant alternatives is Saturday, Oct. 9.

SBHS News

Fall Flea Market is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 16 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the society’s grounds, rain or shine.
