The Community Scholarship Association of Granby (CSAG) has been awarding deserving graduating high school students scholarships since 1958.
It was an exciting month of February for the Granby Public Schools. We celebrated our 100th day of school with spirit and excitement. I cannot believe that over half the school year is complete. Our students and staff continue to make the community proud in all areas of our school district.
As this issue arrives in Granby residents’ mailboxes, the regular high school basketball seasons will have ended, and the NCCC tournaments and state championship game brackets will be determined. While sport sessions begin and end three times during each academic year, the conclusion of this season marks the end of a seven-year journey for 13 members of the team.
Those were just a few of the responsibilities dominating the minds of students at GMHS a mere couple of weeks ago.
Granby Parents for a Safe Graduation (GPSG), an all-volunteer, nonprofit organization that organizes a substance-free Grad Night celebration for Granby Memorial High School graduates, is seeking volunteers to help with the event. For the past two years, due to COVID-19, GPSG has been unable to throw a party for graduates.
The Abigail Phelps Chapter of the DAR is pleased to announce the 2021 Good Citizens Awards. Karen DiMenna, chair of the DAR Good Citizens Committee, recognized four area seniors for their dependability, service, leadership and patriotism.
Parents must pre-register their eligible children for kindergarten on the Kelly Lane Primary School website beginning Feb. 1.
The Connecticut Press Club is holding its first Communications Contest for high school students, with entries being accepted in 23 writing, editing, broadcast and visual arts categories.
