Wells Road School’s Jim Whitten emceed the well-attended Gran-Bee trivia competition on April 19 at Granby Memorial High School. The event raised money for the Granby Education Foundation’s community grants program.
The participants at the first workshop for Granby Racial Reconciliation’s free four-part series on “Race, Religion, and Politics” gave the highest accolades for presenter and facilitator Dr. Matthew Hughey, PhD, ALM, MEd.

The Granby Artists Association (GAA) will present its annual All Members Show at Lost Acres Vineyard from June 7 to July 7.
Pack a picnic, bring a blanket and enjoy smooth tunes from the Wells Road Intermediate School, Granby Memo-rial Middle School and Granby Memorial High School jazz bands. This free event starts at 5 p.m. at the bandshell in Salmon Brook Park. Presented by the Granby Public Schools music department.
The Granby Grange is holding an Agricultural Fair on Saturday, Sept. 14 that will coincide with Granby Open Farm Day. The Grange invites home producers to enter products from their gardens, kitchens, cameras and craft rooms for judging and to show off your skills to residents and out of town visitors alike.
While students and administrators enjoyed some well-deserved time off during spring break, local businesses remained hard at work to ensure that the GMHS Dramatic Arts Program has a strong season next fall.
The Torrington Trails Network and Torrington Historical Society will conduct a Trails Day Hike from the John Brown Birthplace site on John Brown Road, Torrington on June 1 at 10 a.m.
The next Stony Hill Community Serve Day will be Saturday, May 18, 9 a.m. to noon. This is a reschedule as the Granby Police Department cautioned that a closure of Salmon Brook Street for another activity would impact volunteers.
