Granby’s first selectman, Mark Fiorentino, received a first-place award in the 2023 Connecticut Press Club’s annual competition for his humorous short story, The New Guy.
At the annual Connecticut Lions District 23B Governor’s Awards Breakfast on March 9, two Granby Lions were honored for their service as Granby Lions Club members.
At its Feb. 18 meeting, the Granby Board of Selectmen presented proclamations to two volunteer groups that recently provided services to the town.
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Audrey M. Phelps beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, and Friend, of West Suffield, CT who peacefully passed away at home on January 22, 2025 at the age of 89.

Mackenzie Janski has earned the highest award offered by Girl Scouts USA (GSUSA), the Girl Scout Gold Award. Mackenzie was recognized at her Gold Award Pinning Ceremony on Jan. 12, at Pilgrim Covenant Church. In recognition of her dedication and hard work to benefit all Granby citizens, the Granby Board of Selectmen presented a proclamation to Mackenzie on Jan. 6, and the State Legislature issued its own proclamation during the ceremony.
