August 30 was the first day of school in Granby and many kids were excited to get back to school to see their friends. The kids saw a clean school, a school that looks almost new, because of the silent workers—the school custodians who worked hard all summer preparing for the new school year.
Madeleine McGee, GMHS 2019, graduated summa cum laude from Eastern Connecticut State University with a B.S. in health and physical education.

UNICO is the nation’s largest Italian-American service organization. The Granby chapter selected two outstanding students with Italian heritage and strong extracurricular credentials to receive scholarships at the Granby Memorial High School awards night.

On June 8 the Simsbury Metacomet VFW Post 1926 members congratulated Kate Hollister of BSA Troop 1175 for winning the VFW Eagle Scout of the Year award.
The Farmington Valley Visiting Nurse Association has announced that Nancy A. Scheetz, agency CEO, has been chosen as the Simsbury Chamber of Commerce Business Leader of the Year 2022. The designation is particularly significant as it is the first time a woman business leader has been recognized.
