The directors of the committee proposing the new use of the Kearns school building as a community center gave a presentation to the Board of Selectmen at its Dec. 17 meeting, which was followed by a public hearing at the Board’s Jan.

A second student liaison has joined the Board of Selectmen. Granby Memorial High School senior James Kuhnly has always been interested in world happenings, and closer to home, local government, having an uncle who served 40 years on Simsbury’s Planning and Zoning commission.

Update on Granby’s bridge problems

Moosehorn, Griffin, Donohue, Simsbury, Hungary and Enders — Granby roads with bridge issues. The wheels of government turn slowly when it comes to diagnosing and financing repairs of these structures, but inspections have been made, problems identified and financing is in the works.

Sponsored by Granby Public Library and the Granby Land Trust, national wildlife conservationist and Barkhamsted resident Ginny Apple presented a program on local bobcats on Sept. 17 at the center library.

A full house greeted members of the State Department of Transportation on Sept. 26 in the Senior Center to hear the latest on the proposed roundabout at the intersection of Rte. 10/202 with East Street and Notch Road.

BOS authorizes BOE request for high school roof repair
|
At its Oct. 15 meeting, the Granby Board of Selectmen approved the Board of Education’s request to ask the Board of Finance for an additional $275,000 for an emergency repair to the roof of the high school.
