Used book sale collection begins June 1

Spring is here and the Friends of Granby Public Library are preparing for donations to the Granby Public Library’s annual book sale to be held Sept. 21-23 at Holcomb Farm.
The Friends of Granby Public Library (FOGPL) will begin to accept donations on June 1. In the meantime, please start to set aside any donations for the big annual book sale event that will be held Sept.
The Friends of Granby Public Library (FOGPL) begins its new membership year on April 1. You can find the membership form inserted in this month’s Drummer.
In early January, the Granby Library held a book talk and signing of Springfield Confidential by Mike Reiss. Reiss has been a writer and producer of the show, The Simpsons, since it’s been on the air for 30 years, from the beginning to the present.
In the book, he discussed with the packed audience at the library, he provided a first-hand look at how it all began, how the show is made, and why it keeps going.
For the month of December, the Friends of Granby Public Library will have books and DVDs for gift giving this holiday season. There will be a number of items for children and adults with a variety of different areas of interest.
The Friends of Granby Public Library (FOGPL) wrapped up another successful book sale in September. Overall, the sale generated almost $10,500, all of which goes towards supporting the Granby Public Library with books, magazines, DVDs, museum passes and special programs for all patrons.
Donations were accepted throughout the summer with drop off locations at Geissler’s, YMCA and the library.
