Early Voting
Early voting for the Nov. 3 General Election will be held Oct. 19–Nov. 1 at the Town Hall, 10 a.m.–6 p.m., with extended hours on Oct. 27 and 29, 8 a.m.–8 p.m.
Civic Club
The Civic Club will meet at the Salmon Brook Historical Society on Thursday, Oct. 15 at 1 p.m. Club members will view the “Granby Women Artists in the Salmon Brook Historical Collection.” The artists work is on display in the Abijah Rowe House and the Enders House.
The artwork on display ranges from 1802 to the present-day. Roxanne Rosano, a society volunteer, put this special collection together and will lead us through the display.

Men’s Breakfast
Mark your calendar for Friday, Oct. 8, when Walt Harrison, former president of the University of Hartford, will entertain the Men’s Breakfast Group with stories of baseball and other interesting topics. Breakfast is at 8:30 a.m. with the program at 9 a.m. Please register for the breakfast by calling the Granby Senior Center at 860-844-5350. Your early registration significantly helps us plan for food and seating. The cost remains $5.
Birdseed Sale
The Granby Lions Club will conduct its 31st Annual Birdseed Sale in October. Orders must be placed before Wednesday, Oct. 21, for pick–up of seed on Saturday, Oct. 31, 8 a.m.–noon at Pierce Builders, 522 Salmon Brook Street. Order forms will be mailed to existing customers. Women’s Breakfast
The Granby Women’s Breakfast Group will meet on Wednesday, Oct. 7. Granby Animal Control Officer Jennifer Kershaw and Granby Police Officer Nichole Abalan, who happen to be mother and daughter, will talk about their work and share some amusing animal anecdotes. Breakfast is at 8:30 a.m. with the program following at 9 a.m. It is necessary to register in advance to enable accurate menu planning. SBHS News
Salmon Brook Historical Society is located at 208 Salmon Brook Street, and its website is salmonbrookhistoricalsociety.com
The Research Library in the Preservation Barn is open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to noon or by appointment by calling 860-653-9713. Research fee is $25 per hour.
The Museum Store has a great assortment of Granby items. Located in the Enders House, the store is open Thursdays from 9 a.m. to noon. Purchases may be made on Tuesdays at the Preservation Barn, 9 a.m. to noon.
Fall Flea Market: Saturday, Oct. 17, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the society’s grounds. Vendor spaces are $40 if payment received by Oct. 10, $50 if received after Oct. 10. Flea Market donations can be dropped off at the society any Tuesday or Thursday between 9 a.m. and noon through Oct. 13.
Camera Club
In October, the Granby Camera Club will not meet on its usual first Monday of the month. There will be a members-only workshop on Wednesday, Oct. 21. The scavenger hunt words for November will be artistic, fall and favorite.
