Granby Citizens of 2076:
It is my honor and pleasure to write to you on behalf of the Board of Selectmen and our entire team of municipal officials and employees.
The Heritage Time Capsule contains a wide variety of items that were selected to give you a sense of what Granby was like in 2026. The items range from a recent copy of the Granby Drummer, our local award-winning newspaper, to letters written by Granby elementary school students, to a set of uncirculated 2025 coins.
As you explore the items in the capsule, we offer you a number of hopes.
We hope that 2076 finds you in prosperous times, and that you are as proud of, and invested in, the community as we are today.
We hope that Granby is still grounded, at least in part, in the traditions and values documented in the capsule and its contents.
We hope that you find the items in the capsule informative and that they spark, or further, your interest in our collective history.
We hope that the items encourage community conversations, a desire to learn more, and a willingness to share what you have learned with others. By learning and sharing you will help remember, recognize and honor the many contributions that have been made to make Granby the special place it is.
And most of all, we hope that you enjoy the same spirit of volunteerism, collaboration and engagement that inspired the capsule. This spirit, and the countless individuals who exhibit it, are the foundation of all that we have in Granby, and all that we have passed on to you.
