Summer Reading Program
Granby Public Library is so appreciative of the program and prize sponsors for its Summer Reading Program. A big thank you to Stop & Shop, Beman True Value Hardware, Old Mill Pond Village, Drago’s Kitchen, Granby Auto Wash, Verona Pizzeria, Necker’s Toyland, Salmon Brook Historical Society and The Whisk and Cambridge House Brewpub.
The support of these local establishments helped make this year extra special and gave our readers even more to look forward to. We are so grateful for your generosity and for helping us encourage a love of reading in our community!
Congratulations for book sale success!
A huge thank-you to the Friends of the Granby Public Libraries, book sale volunteers and everyone who supported this year’s used book sale. It was a tremendous success, raising more than $13,000 that will directly support programs, services and special projects at the Granby Public Libraries.
Special Events
Annual Maker Faire, Celebrating Granby Open Farm Day: Saturday, Sept. 12, 10 a.m.–2 p.m. All ages. Stop by the Cossitt Library to enjoy maker projects celebrating Granby Open Farm Day and to check out maker equipment demonstrations. Chicken key chains, quick crafts and complimentary “Seeds You Can Eat” are just a few of the activities available.
Medicare 2027, Change on the Horizon: Thursday, Sept. 17, 6:30–7:30 p.m. at GPL. Learn how to choose the right Medicare plan and how to navigate the important changes rolling out in 2027. Lou and Jessica Pelletier guide you through the sweeping changes coming next year, including plans to be eliminated and what that means for current enrollees, redesigned Medicare Drug Plan Rules. They’ll offer a clear breakdown of Medicare Part A (Hospital Coverage), Part B (Physician and Outpatient Coverage, and Part D (Prescription Drug Coverage).

All About ADUs: Thursday, Sept. 10; 6:30–7:30 p.m. at GPL. Learn the essentials of transforming your property with an Accessory Dwelling Unit, a self-contained residential living space located on the same property as a single-family home.
Welcome Wags with Emmie: Monday, Sept. 14; 1–2 p.m. at GPL. Catch some pawsitive vibes with four-footed, furry friend Emmie.
Monday Movie Matinee, Michael: Monday, Sept. 14, 1:30–2:30 p.m. at GPL. The story of the famous musician Michael Jackson, known as the King of Pop.
Shadows of History, The Story of the Silhouette: Tuesday, Sept. 15, 6:30–7:30 p.m. at GPL. Hear about the ancient and more modern history of what became known as a “Silhouette.” Stay tuned for special opportunity to get your own silhouette in October.
Conversation and Camaraderie: Monday, Sept. 21, 6:30–7:30 p.m. at GPL. Social group for men interested in thoughtful conversation, shared experiences and new friendships.
