Women’s Breakfast
We invite you to join us on Wednesday, Sept. 9, to start the new season with the Granby Women’s Breakfast Group. The Granby Artists Association is celebrating its 25th Anniversary with a show at Holcomb Farms on Oct. 4. Some of the artists will have their work on display at our breakfast. Come and get a sneak preview!
Breakfast is at 8:30 a.m. with the program following at 9 a.m. We encourage you to register in advance to enable accurate menu planning. Please register by calling the Senior Center at 860-844-5350 or register on the Senior Center website. Cost remains $5.
Camera Club
The Granby Camera Club will meet on Monday, Sept. 14 at 6:30 p.m. at the Granby Senior Center.
Come to this first meeting of the year and let us know what you wish to gain from our meetings, help finalize our programs, and learn about the Scavenger Hunt. Bring a photo from this summer that you would enjoy sharing. It can be one of the scavenger hunt words. Scavenger hunt words: play, summer and favorite.
Men’s Breakfast
On Friday, Sept. 11, the Men’s Breakfast Group welcomes Joel Cummings, from Classic Car Manufacturing in Springfield. Breakfast will be served at 8:30 a.m. with the program starting at 9 a.m. Please register for the breakfast by calling the Granby Senior Center at 860-844-5350. Your early registration significantly helps plan for food and seating. The cost remains just $5.
Civic Club
The Granby Civic Club will begin its 113th year of service to the town of Granby when it meets on Thursday, Sept. 17, 1 p.m. in the Senior Center. Its single purpose has been “for a better Granby.”
The club members welcome all women in Granby and surrounding communities to the September Welcome Back Tea. Please bring your favorite tea cup “with a story to tell” as we reconnect with each other and welcome new folks. The members will also finalize plans for the tag sale booth at the Salmon Brook Historical Society Flea Market on Oct. 17. How can you have hope and know God, in the face of all that is happening? Knowing God and hope based on scriptures is what the Granby Bible study is all about. The Research Library in the Preservation Barn is open Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9 a.m. to noon or by appointment by calling 860-653-9713. Research fee $25 per hour.
The Museum Store has a great assortment of Granby items. Located in the Enders House, the store is open Thursdays, 9 a.m. to noon. Purchases may be made on Tuesdays at the Preservation Barn 9 am to noon.

Summer House Tours on the main campus will be open 2–4 p.m. on the following Sundays: Sept. 13* and Sept. 27. In the Rowe House, during September, there will be displays of Granby Women Artists in our collection and School Girl Art. On Sept. 27, visitors will have the opportunity to have their profile traced to create their own silhouette portrait keepsake. Register to reserve your time slot. Admission fees are: Adults (18-64) $5, children (13-17) and seniors (65 and over) $2, family maximum $12. Members are always free. There is a separate admission fee for the Aaron Draper Shattuck Collection at the same rate as the House Tours.
Open Farm Dayis Saturday, Sept. 12. Both the Tobacco Barn and Wilcox House will be open 10 a.m.–4 p.m.
Appraisal Fairis Sunday, Sept. 20, 10 a.m.–2 p.m. Appraisals are $5 per item. Four appraisers will be available, specializing in fine art, rare books and ephemera, jewelry and firearms, and general items.
