Nonprofit organizations in Granby are invited to announce upcoming events—free of charge—here on the In Town Focus page. According to Drummer readers, this calendar page is the first one they read, so take advantage of this free, no strings-attached option to let the community know what is happening in your organization.

Submit the “what, when and where” for your event, up to 120 words, to editor@granbydrummer.org

Ring Out, Ye Joyful Bells!

At 2:50 p.m. on Saturday, July 4, members of Granby Congregational Church’s handbell choir will ring at the south campus. From the front steps of the church, choir members will join a nationwide ring, “creating a canopy of sound over our nation.”

The National Bell Festival has invited bells and bell towers across America to ring out together on Independence Day. In order for the entire nation to ring simultaneously, the start time for ringing must be specific to time zones.

The choir will ring 13 tolls, referencing the original 13 colonies that composed the United States. For more information, refer to bells.org/blog/bell-ringing-guidelines-americas-250th

Granby Bible Study

“How can you have hope in the face of all that is happening?” That’s the frequent question from the Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness presentations in May and June. Hope is what the Granby Bible Study classes are all about. Contact us to schedule any additional “Happiness” presentations or to receive a recording upon request.

Join us for any of the ongoing free Bible programs including The Gospel of John on Wednesdays at 10 a.m. at the Granby Town Hall. There is also the 10 a.m. Tuesday Zoom class on the Book of Acts. For more information, contact Skip Mission at 860-276-4936 or granbybiblestudy@gmail.com
