Valley Brook Community Church is pleased to announce the pastoral ordination of Brian A. Rooney, the church’s current Director of Discipleship. Brian, his wife, Jenna, and their dog, Koda, live in Granby.
Rooney is a native of Simsbury and graduated from the Master’s School. He completed his undergraduate work at Gordon College and then went on to get two master’s degrees in Mental Health Counseling and Theological Studies from Gordon Conwell Seminary. Prior to coming to Valley Brook in 2024, he worked for Wheeler Health as a child outpatient therapist in the Bristol Connecticut School system. Along with being on the staff at Valley Brook, Rooney is also a practicing therapist.
The ordination pathway to become a pastor is a comprehensive process where every area of a candidate’s character, calling, leadership and theology is thoroughly examined and reviewed. Rooney’s ordination service was held on Sunday, March 1, during the morning services at Valley Brook.
Valley Brook offers programs for children, students, and adults. The church provides both an English worship service and a Spanish worship service on Sundays at 10 a.m. on their campus at 160 Granville Road in North Granby and they are streamed live and “on-demand” on their website.
