Historical society’s annual meeting will be April 21

Members of the Salmon Brook Historical Society (SBHS) are invited to attend the 2026 Annual Membership Dinner Meeting on Tuesday, April 21, at the Granby Congregational Church North Campus, Cook Hall, 219 North Granby Road.

This special evening is for SBHS members, but if you are not currently a member it’s easy to join and attend. Anyone interested in local history is encouraged to become a member today by visiting salmonbrookhistoricalsociety.com or calling 860-653-9713.

The evening begins with a reception from 5 to 6 p.m., offering a chance to reconnect with friends and fellow supporters of Granby’s history.

Dinner will be served at 6 p.m. and will feature a delicious menu of spiral ham with honey mustard sauce, baked potato, green beans almondine, rolls and butter, with fruit crisp for dessert. The cost is $25 per person.

Following dessert, there will be a brief annual business meeting, including highlights from the past year, the introduction of a new curator and a preview of several exciting projects currently underway at SBHS.

The evening will conclude with a keynote presentation by Michael Campbell, the former executive director of the Mark Twain House and Museum in Hartford. Campbell will share stories and insights about one of Connecticut’s most treasured historic sites and its connection to the life and legacy of Mark Twain. His talk promises to be a highlight of the evening for anyone interested in literature, history and preservation.
