YOUTH PROGRAMS
Salmon Brook Park Preschool Day Camp (ages 4–5): Monday–Friday, June 22–Aug. 14, 8:30–11:30 a.m. A preschool summer day camp program committed to serving your child’s needs. This traditional day camp fills each morning with active games, special events, sports, arts and crafts, teamwork, group interaction and the wonders of nature. Salmon Brook Park has a playground, soccer fields, baseball fields, outdoor basketball hoops, picnic pavilions and tennis courts. Your child will have the opportunity to make new friends and have a lot of fun.
Salmon Brook Park Day Camp (grades 1–3): Monday–Friday, June 22–Aug. 14, 8:30 a.m.–3:30 p.m. A summer day camp program committed to serving your child’s needs. This traditional day camp fills each day with active games, special events, sports, arts and crafts, teamwork, group interaction and the wonders of nature. Your child will have the opportunity to swim at our waterfront, make new friends and have a lot of fun! All children are grouped by age/grade and all activities are age appropriate. Junior Mission: Adventure (grades 4–5): Monday–Friday, June 22–Aug. 14, 8:30 a.m.–3:30 p.m. New this year—This camp is for campers to embark on one field trip every week. The other four days will be spent at Salmon Brook Park doing all the activities that they have come to love such as scavenger hunts, team building activities, sports, swimming and more. Mission: Adventure in Granby: (grades 6–9): The area’s most popular day camp for tweens and teens who might not think it’s cool to go to summer camp … until now! This camp will have your teenager traveling to exciting destinations three days every week to places like Brownstone, ropes courses, Matt’s Outback and many others. The other two days are adventuring right here at SBP. They will be participating in scavenger hunts, team building activities, sports, swimming and more. Counselor-In-Training Program: Monday–Friday, June 22–Aug. 14, 8:30 a.m.–3:30 p.m. Join our dynamic Counselor-In-Training (CIT) Program, designed to prepare young leaders for future roles as camp counselors. This program focuses on developing essential skills like leadership, childcare and program management. Under the guidance of our experienced Granby Day Camp staff and Assistant Camp Director, your teen will gain invaluable experience in leadership, teamwork, decision-making and responsibility. SPECIAL EVENT
Holcomb Farm Spring Marketplace: Saturday, May 9, 10 a.m.–4 p.m. Are you a crafter or a local home business looking for an opportunity to showcase and sell your items? This is the perfect event for you. Local crafters/vendors are invited to sign up for the Holcomb Farm Marketplace event. Just in time for Mother’s Day and Father’s Day, this event will give shoppers an opportunity to purchase beautiful, one-of-a kind, handmade treasures for their loved ones and friends. Outdoor vendor spaces are available, $50 each.
ADULT PROGRAM
Mat Pilates with Jill: Mondays, Feb. 2–March 30, 4:30–5:15 p.m. We are excited to add Mat Pilates to the adult programs. Pilates is a low-impact, mind-body exercise system focusing on core strength, posture, flexibility and controlled movements. The benefits of Pilates are numerous and include improved core strength, flexibility, posture, balance and body awareness, with low-impact movements beneficial for muscle toning and even rehab. It uses methods developed and refined over many years that focus on precision, concentration and breath control, making it adaptable for all fitness levels. Jill Ricci is an experienced instructor who has been teaching group fitness in the Granby area for more than 30 years. No prior experience necessary! Please bring your own mat. This 45-minute class runs for eight weeks and is held in the beautiful Gathering Room at Salmon Brook Park.
