Two Wells Road Intermediate School students have been selected to represent the Town of Granby in the Connecticut 2026 Fire Prevention Poster Recognition Program. This year’s theme is “Fire Prevention—Everyone/Every day.”

Under the guidance of Wells Road Art Teacher Kristy Lankford, students Clara Mitrano and Isabel Norrick demonstrated outstanding creativity and understanding of fire safety through their artwork. Their success reflects their hard work, as well as a strong emphasis on safety education and artistic expression. All posters were judged by members of the Town Building Officials Office and Office of the Fire Marshal. The winning posters were selected from the many creative and colorful entries that were submitted.
These students’ posters have been entered to be judged against all Hartford County towns. If selected to represent Hartford County they will be entered for a chance to be selected as the state winner.
If selected as a county representative, they will be invited to attend a recognition luncheon, and the state winner will have their artwork reproduced and distributed as Connecticut’s 2026 Fire Prevention Poster.
