Donna Daye (Wynings) Fenton, 81, of Granby and formerly of Bloomfield, CT, beloved wife of 60 years to Stephen R. Fenton, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, in Holden, MA. Born on September 18, 1944, in Hartford, CT, Donna was the daughter of the late William T. and Mabel (Crossman) Wynings.

Donna was raised in Bloomfield, where she attended and graduated from Bloomfield High School in 1962. Known for her warm personality and unwavering kindness, she had a deep passion for helping others. She was affectionately known as “Studio Grammy” at Nutmeg’s Dance & Theatre Co., where her cheerful presence and constant support touched countless young dancers and families.

Donna gave generously of her time as a longtime volunteer leader and “lunch mother” at Sacred Heart School and church. Her strong faith and quiet dedication to service left a lasting impression on all who knew her.

Donna was an avid reader and an exceptional cook, best known for her legendary meatloaf, “famous” chicken, and Nana’s French onion soup. She loved preparing meals for large gatherings and found true joy in bringing people together around the table. A lifelong Elvis Presley fan, his music always brought a smile to her face, and joy to her heart.

Above all, Donna was devoted to her family. She would drop anything, anytime, to help her children or grandchildren. Her love for them was limitless and steadfast— always present, always giving.

Donna is survived by her loving husband, Stephen; her four children, Jennifer F. and husband Rob Rome of Granby, CT; Amy F. Brough of West Hartford, CT; William H. and wife Lisa Fenton of Lakeville, CT; and Meggie F. and husband Tyler Funk of Granby, CT; her cherished grandchildren: Frankie and wife Kaitlyn Rome of West Suffield, CT; Alexis and husband Quinn Barbeito of Westfield, MA; Haley and husband Ciaran O’Connor of East Granby, CT; Jackson Rome of Granby, CT; Timothy and wife Bailey Brough of Chestnut Hill Cove, MD; Katie Daye Brough of New York, NY; Justin and wife Ashley Marrott of Colchester, CT; Zach Marrott of St. George, UT; Stella and Mabel Fenton of Lakeville, CT; Loki, Milo, Tula Daye, and Clio Funk of Granby, CT; and great-grandchildren Paxton and River Rome of West Suffield, CT.

She is also survived by her loving sister Janet Punty and her husband Don, as well as many nieces, nephews, and dear friends who will remember her for her warmth, generosity, and unwavering love.

She was predeceased by her parents and her beloved sister, Susan “Susie” Irish.

A Visitation was held on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at Hayes-Huling & Carmon Funeral Home, 364 Salmon Brook Street, Granby, CT 06035. A Celebration of Life will follow on Sunday, November 9, 2025, at Jennifer and Rob’s Barns at Rome Farm (additional details to be shared).
