Women’s Breakfast

The Women’s Breakfast Group will meet on Wednesday, Oct. 1 and welcome back retired veterinarian Dr. Harry Werner. We invite you to enjoy his humorous animal anecdotes. Breakfast is at 8:30 a.m. followed by the program at 9 a.m. Cost is $5.

Camera Club

The Granby Camera Club will meet at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 6 at a site to be determined. The topic will be Painting with Light. We will start outdoors and return to the Senior Center to compare results. You will need your camera, tripod and a flashlight. Cell phones can also be used. Men’s Breakfast

The Men’s Breakfast Group will meet on Friday, Oct. 10 at 8:30 a.m. for breakfast, and then a program at 9 a.m. Our speaker will be Scott Tracy, exploring the recent increases in volcanic and seismic activities around the world, posing a question: is there a connection with climate change? Please register for the breakfast by calling the Granby Senior Center at 860-844-5350. Your early registration significantly helps us plan for food and seating. The cost remains just $5. See you there!

Civic Club

The Granby Civic Club will meet on Thursday, Oct. 16 at 1 p.m. at the Senior Center. The guest speaker will be long-time Granby resident Royal Griffin, who will share his experiences during his many years as an airline pilot and instructor. Refreshments will be served. The Research Library in the Preservation Barn is open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to noon or by appointment by calling 860-653-9713. Research fee is $25 per hour.

The Museum Store has a great assortment of Granby merchandise and books. Located in the Enders House, it is open Thursdays from 9 a.m. to noon. Purchases may also be made on Tuesdays at the Preservation Barn, 9 a.m. to noon.

The society’s Fall Flea Market is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 18 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the society’s grounds. Please contact Dave Laun at 860-653-3965 for vendor information. Flea Market donations to the society are welcome any Tuesday or Thursday between 9 a.m. and noon through Oct. 14.
