Lew Noble. Drummer photo file

Lew Noble passed away at the age of 90 on Aug. 31, 2025. Lew was a long-time resident of Granby. He lived a full and active life with his life partner of 43 years, Betsy Mack.

Lew will be remembered for his dedication to The Granby Drummer. He was a member of Citizens for a Better Granby board and during his tenure he served as board chairperson.

Lew played a vital role in the monthly production of the Drummer. He processed editorial copy and formatted articles in preparation for computer layout. Lew recorded them on log sheets and tracked them through the copy-editing stage of newspaper production. He often knew what was happening around town before other staffers, since he saw the stories first. Lew could always be relied upon to get the job done and in a very timely manner. Lew will be missed by his friends on the CBG board and the Drummer staff.
