The Granby Board of Education is pleased to welcome new member Ann Woods. Woods moved to Granby in 2002 for its New England charm and natural landscape. She started her career at The Hartford and continued her education, earning a master’s degree in management adding to her bachelor’s in communications.

Woods chose to raise her family in Granby. Her 18-year-old son graduated from GMHS in 2024 and now attends Penn State University and her daughter is entering her sophomore year at GMHS.

“Raising my kids here has been a complete joy. From kindergarten on, Granby teachers and administrators have made a real difference in my kids’ lives. Not only am I impressed by the quality of our educators, but from the athletics fields, to the drama stage, to the robotics pit, to the music performances, I’m constantly amazed by Granby’s young people.”

Woods was appointed by the Granby Democratic Town Committee to fill the remaining months of a four-year term upon the resignation of Karen Richmond-Godard, who is relocating out of town. Woods will campaign in this year’s municipal election to fill the BOE seat for another four years.

Board members look forward to Ann Woods’ perspective, expertise and contributions to kick-off the new school year.
