PFLAG Granby will present a free community concert on Sunday, Nov. 1, featuring the music of New England Pride 365. An intergenerational collective of queer artists and allies, the group is composed of vocalists, dancers, actors, musicians and poets who sing for those who cannot. Their repertoire includes music from a wide variety of genres, including Broadway musicals, pop, choral and blues.
“We had the opportunity to attend one of their concerts during Pride month and were just blow away by both the talent and positive energy this group brings to their performance. We’re looking forward to bringing that experience here to Granby!” says PFLAG Granby member Laura Murach.
The concert will be held at the Granby Congregational Church North Campus, 219 North Granby Road and will begin at 4 p.m. Directly following the concert, attendees are invited to a reception in Cook Hall, which will include a “sneak peek” at the upcoming art exhibit, “Becomings: The Portrait Project” featuring paintings of transgender and nonbinary individuals by Granby artist Doug Williams. The paintings will be presented along with individual stories told through essays and poetry. This exhibit is sponsored by PFLAG Granby, and will travel throughout New England, beginning later this year.
This event is open to anyone who wishes to experience this meaningful celebration of our human experience. Donations at the door are appreciated but not required.
