The Salmon Brook Music Series is kicking off its 12th season with a multi-generational concert. Families and music lovers of all ages are invited to enjoy an afternoon of live music on Sunday, Oct. 18, from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Granby Congregational Church Fellowship Building, South Campus, 242 Salmon Brook Street.
The afternoon will begin with Granby’s own Peggy Shaw, a beloved Valley Preschool music teacher, who will share some favorite songs familiar to local children and families. Shaw’s performance will be followed by Kali Stoddard-Imari, a Boston-based singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and looping artist known for blending folk, pop, rhythm and rock, roots rock, blues, reggae fusion and soul into storytelling. Stoddard-Imari was born and raised in Vermont. With music as an outlet and family and community as inspiration, he uses music to unite people and create positive experiences for everyone he can.
As a concert for all generations, the event welcomes everyone from young children experiencing their first live concert to longtime music lovers looking to enjoy an afternoon together. A special sitting area will be available for children near the musicians, giving them an opportunity to experience the music up close.
Profits from the concert will benefit Open Cupboard, Granby Congregational Church’s food pantry, and Valley Preschool. Tickets are $20 for adults, $10 for children, with a family maximum of $50. Doors open at 2:30 p.m.
