Granby Parents for a Safe Graduation (GPSG) announced the winners of its annual Senior Art Contest on March 16. Thank you to all the students who submitted artwork inspired by this year’s theme, “The World Is Your Canvas.”

The winners are Jenna Stevens in first place, Bellamy Posson in second place and Jacob Tong in third place. Jenna’s design will be featured on the Safe Grad Night invitation and T-shirt. Congratulations to Jenna, Bellamy and Jacob! GPSG also sincerely thanks art teacher Hollie Hecht for her continued support in promoting the contest every year.

Safe Grad Night is a celebrated tradition, made possible with the help from our community. Thank you to all who purchased treats at our fall and spring candy sales, or supported the Wayback Burgers fundraiser. GPSG also appreciates the support of local businesses and organizations that have contributed to our efforts so far.

Upcoming opportunities to support Safe Grad Night, June 11

GPSG will hold a bake sale at Geissler’s in Granby on May 3, 10 a.m.–2 p.m.

Get Flocking—send a flock of flamingos to grace your friends’ front yard! GPSG will surprise them with a “flocking” for a $25 donation. After their visit ends, the flamingos mysteriously migrate to roost at another address. Email granbyparentssafegrad@gmail.com for more details or to reserve your flocking.

Donations needed! The committee continues to collect gift cards for use as raffle prizes for the night of the event, along with monetary donations to help cover the event costs. Gift cards may be dropped off at Granby Memorial High School. Both gift cards and monetary donations can be mailed to Granby Parents for a Safe Graduation, Attn: Treasurer, PO Box 81, Granby CT 06035. For questions or additional information, readers may contact the committee at granbyparentssafegrad@gmail.com or reach GPSG Chair Jana Henry at 860-335-3183. Updates about upcoming events and ways to support the Class of 2026 can be found on Facebook at Granby Parents for a Safe Graduation.

Thank you for supporting the 40th year of this proud Granby tradition!
