It might be cold now, but there’s a lot going on at Granby Parks & Recreation to prepare for the summer season, including opened job applications for various summer staff positions—summer camp counselors, lifeguards, concession attendants and pond gate attendants. The Department of Public Works has been overseeing a pond dredging project at the Salmon Brook Park Pond waterfront. New England Aquatics has finished clearing debris from the pond, and the sand and beach restoration will be completed in the spring.

Daylight savings will begin on Sunday, March 8. When adjusting your clocks to spring forward one hour, check your smoke detector and carbon monoxide alarm batteries too. The Fire Marshal reminds everyone that they offer free replacement of battery-operated alarms and batteries for one- and two-family dwellings.

The Granby Board of Selectmen will host three budget workshops in March: March 5, March 9 and March 12, at 5 p.m. in the Town Hall Meeting Room. The public is invited to attend and encouraged to contribute comments at these meetings.
