After thoughtful consideration, Heather Lockwood has decided to step down as Managing Editor later this spring. Her family is planning a move in the near future, and additional family responsibilities have made it necessary for her to shift her focus at this time.

Over the past eight months, Lockwood has made meaningful improvements to systems and operations, leaving the Drummer in a better place than when she began. We are thankful she will continue serving as a volunteer so her gifts and insight will remain part of our team.

As announced on the front page, we are beginning the search for the next Managing Editor. If you are interested in the position or know someone who may be a strong fit for this role, we welcome hearing from you.

Please know that our mission remains steady and our team remains strong as we move forward with the collaborative effort and continuing commitment that define this group.

If you are a creative person with  writing, communication, organizational and interpersonal skills, this might be the position for you! The Managing Editor oversees all aspects of Drummer production, supervising the editorial process from the blank page to the finished publication. You will work with our volunteers, town officials, civic leaders and residents as a representative of the Drummer. As editor you join a group of dedicated, hardworking and creative people keeping the Drummer a vital part of the community.

Interested? Write to us at editor@granbydrummer.org and tell us why you might be just who we are looking for!
