Mark your calendars! Grassroots Ice Cream and Deep Roots Street Food will host three Fresh Access Give Back Days this year: Tuesday, May 19, Tuesday, July 21 and Tuesday, Sept. 15. During each Give Back Day, Grassroots and Deep Roots will donate 10 percent of profits from all three locations—in Granby, Simsbury and New Milford—to Fresh Access.
Fresh Access, a program of the Friends of Holcomb Farm, partners with Connecticut organizations to provide farm-fresh produce to more than 600 food-insecure families each week throughout the growing season and into the winter.
The generosity of Grassroots Ice Cream and Deep Roots Street Food strengthens local agriculture while benefiting individuals and families who may not otherwise have access to fresh, nutritious food. The Friends of Holcomb Farm are appreciative of Grassroots’ continued support of Fresh Access through Give Back Days. Many thanks, in particular, to Grassroots owners Mark Sproule and Brandon Pappalardo for making a meaningful impact in the community.
