Trash and Recycling: Presidents’ Day (Feb. 16) is not a trash holiday. Trash and recycling must be out on your regularly scheduled day.

Salt and Sand: A mix of sand and salt mix is available at the Granby Animal Shelter across from the McLean Game Refuge on Salmon Brook Street (Route 10). Residents are welcome to the equivalent of one five-gallon bucket at a time.

Recycling: Do you have questions on recycling? Check out recyclect.com or follow them on Facebook.

Textile Recycling: If you are cleaning out your closets this winter, please donate your textiles for reuse or recycling rather than placing them in your curbside barrel. There are numerous bins at the transfer station that accept textiles. This includes shoes, linens and stuffed animals. Items should be clean, dry and odorless. All items should be placed in plastic bags before placing them in the bin.

Plastic Film: Plastic bags and plastic wrap are not allowed in your single stream barrel. Plastic film is recyclable but only in designated collection boxes. Plastic shopping bags, clean plastic wrap, wrap from products such as toilet paper, napkins, etc. can be placed in collection containers located at the entrance of some local stores.

Winter Operations: Please read the DPW Winter Hints in this month’s Drummer or check the Public Works page on the Granby website at granby-ct.gov
