Parents, save these dates:

The 5th Grade Snow Man Shuffle will be held Friday, Dec. 5 from 6:30–8 p.m. at the Town of Granby Senior/ Youth Services building.

The K-2 parent/loved adult and child, Sweet Heart Dance and Craft event will be held Sunday, Feb. 8 from 5–6:30 p.m. also at the Senior Center/ Youth Services building.

The 5th Grade Red Carpet Dance will be held May 8, 2026 from 8–10 p.m. We plan to hold this at the YMCA again this year.

The Youth Action Council (YAC) helps the Youth Service Bureau (YSB) put on these dances. YAC is a community service and youth leadership development group of high school students. The group plans and hosts these activities to help fund an annual “Quiet Leader” scholarship and award to two Granby Memorial High School graduating seniors. In addition, they typically pick one area of prevention and increased community awareness to focus on. This year will be underage vaping.

The YSB and the YAC are looking for parent volunteers to help at both the Snowman Shuffle as well as at the 5th Grade Red Carpet dance. Third and 4th grade parents, come see what your child’s 5th grade dance will be like! Sixth and 7th grade parents, are invited to help at the Red Carpet dance. Call the YSB at (860) 844-5355 if you can give us a hand.
