Annual Juried Art Show — Oct. 30 to Nov. 30

Granby Land Trust announces call for entries for 18th Annual Juried Art Show

The Granby Land Trust, in partnership with the Granby Artists Association, is pleased to announce a call for artists for its 18th Annual Juried Art Show, taking place Oct. 30 through Nov. 30, at Lost Acres Vineyard in North Granby.

The show, titled Celebrating New England’s Natural Beauty, invites artists from across the region to submit works that depict or are inspired by the landscapes and natural settings of New England. All genres of visual art are encouraged, including but not limited to painting, photography, drawing, sculpture and printmaking.

This show has become a popular annual event, attracting both established and emerging artists, as well as hundreds of art lovers and conservation supporters.

Submissions will be juried by Lisa Hayes Williams, curator and head of exhibitions at the New Britain Museum of American Art. Nearly $5,000 in cash prizes will be awarded. All submitted artwork must be offered for sale, with a portion of proceeds supporting the Granby Land Trust’s mission to preserve and protect Granby’s natural heritage.

A prospectus can be found on the GLT’s website, GranbyLandTrust.org (go to “Events,” then select “Art Show”). Art drop-off dates are Friday, Oct. 24 and Saturday, Oct. 25. Artists who pre-register by mail by Oct. 14 will enjoy a reduced registration fee.

Annual Meeting & Community Supper, Oct. 19

Each fall, Granby Land Trust (GLT) members gather for an Annual Meeting—a celebration of a shared love for the outdoors and the collaborative spirit of the volunteers. It’s a meaningful opportunity to come together with friends and neighbors who care deeply about protecting Granby’s beautiful natural spaces, managing land to preserve natural resources and wildlife habitat, and honoring Granby’s unique natural heritage.

This year’s GLT Annual Meeting and Community Supper, open to all 2025 GLT members, will take place on Sunday, Oct. 19 at 5 p.m. at the Granby Congregational Church’s North Campus, located at 219 North Granby Road. Please note the change of location.

For the community supper, guests are encouraged to bring a side dish, salad or dessert to share. The GLT will provide vegetarian and meat lasagnas.

Following the meal, the GLT Board of Directors will lead the Annual Meeting, which will include:

• Updates on recent land acquisitions and ongoing land management efforts.

• Election of new board members.

• Presentation of the Mary Edwards Friend of the Land Trust Award.

The GLT’s success is built on the passion and generosity of its members. The board of directors hopes members will join us in celebration and in a continued, shared commitment to protecting Granby’s natural heritage.
