The Granby Artists Association presents its Annual Open Studio Tour on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 4 and 5 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. This favorite October event in Granby is now a week earlier. Meet the 18 participating artists at their home studios or in gallery spaces and learn how they make their work. Most artists will have art and gifts for sale. See granbyartists.org for more information.

Many of the artists will be doing demonstrations, so come to learn and watch them work. Avis Cherichetti and Linda Yurasevecz will have pottery demos throughout the weekend, while potter Carolyn Dittes will demonstrate wheel throwing at 3:45 p.m. on both days. Sally Markey will be making bookmarks and cards with line drawing. Sue Canavan will be making crepe paper flowers. Anne Marie Elder will be hosting demos and workshops throughout both days that celebrate colonial-era craftsmanship, from spoon carving to heritage woodworking. Laura Eden will show how she paints her birch watercolors and explain her egg tempera painting process. This will be a fun and informative weekend so come out and meet your local artists!
