Closed bottle gentian (Gentiana andrewsii) at the Granby Land Trust’s Dismal Brook Wildlife Preserve in North Granby. This native perennial thrives in moist meadows and wetlands and is an important late-season nectar source for bumblebees. This striking wildflower is becoming less common in parts of New England as wetlands disappear, making protected places like Dismal Brook vital to its survival.
