The year ahead, taking a theme to a strategic plan

Print More

Granby Public Schools will carry forward Connect. Believe. Achieve. from last year—because it just makes sense. It’s more than a theme; it’s what we stand for and what we believe. This year, we plan to build on this theme in a big way as we create our next five-year strategic plan, turning those words into action across the district. The strategic plan will be developed throughout the 2025–26 school year, incorporating input from students, staff, parents and community members. Regular updates will be shared during board of education meetings so everyone can follow our progress.

Communication remains center stage

We continue to make steady progress toward streamlining how we share information so you can easily find what you need. As part of this work, we are excited to introduce ParentSquare, which will now be used for all district, school and classroom communication. ParentSquare provides a simple, safe way for everyone in our schools to connect. Soon, we will roll out ParentSquare to community members who do not have children in our schools. We will launch this feature after we successfully onboard our staff and parents.

In the meantime, please continue to follow Granby Public Schools via our website and social media @Superintendent_Burke. If you have a specific question, we invite you to send it to: AskGPS@granbyschools.org and keep an eye on our new blog posts to see questions from your fellow community members.

School Resource Officer Chris Dufresne

We are thrilled to welcome School Resource Officer Christopher Dufresne to the district this year. Dufresne brings more than 20 years of experience and a passion for connecting with students. You will see him across the district—starting on the very first day of school—meeting students, staff and parents.

He will transition into his full-time role once the Granby Police Department fills his current vacancy. We are confident he will be a positive and visible presence for our schools and community. Special thanks to Granby Police Chief Scott Sanson and Captain Kurt LaFlamme for their support throughout this process.

We know this is going to be our best year yet!
