Troop 76 B (boys) and Troop 76 G (girls) are linked Scouts BSA troops in Simsbury, drawing members across the Farmington Valley including Granby, Avon and Canton. Anyone interested in joining a troop focused on scout-led leadership, personal growth and outdoor adventure are invited to join. An information night for interested families will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 4 at 7 p.m. at First Church of Christ, 689 Hopmeadow Street, Simsbury.
Open to boys and girls ages 11 to 17, Scouts BSA provides opportunities to build confidence, develop life skills and form lasting friendships. No prior scouting experience is required. While the troops are linked and share many activities, they maintain separate leadership structures and event planning to ensure every scout has the opportunity to lead.
Troop 76 is entering its 105th year as an active, year-round program that emphasizes youth leadership, outdoor adventure and ample opportunities for advancement. Scouts participate in monthly outdoor trips, community service projects and have frequent opportunities to work toward rank advancement and merit badges.
Families interested in learning more are encouraged to attend the information night on Sept. 4, or email troop76comm@troop76.info
