April 29–May 30: Kate Emery Art Show for the benefit of Fresh Access. Head to the Lost Acres Vineyard for some wine and to enjoy Emery’s latest work in the show titled The Land That Feeds Us: Body, Mind and Soul. For more information visit lostacresvineyard.com and click on Art Gallery.

May 6–7 and May 20–21: The Annual Plant and Seedling Sale at the Farm Store, 111 Simsbury Road in West Granby. This sale is so popular that there will be two of them this year. The first, on Mother’s Day weekend, will feature mainly hardy veggie plants, herbs and flowers. Give your mom a lasting gift that will make her smile all summer long. This sale will be held May 6 and 7, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The second will take place on May 20 and 21 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Here, in addition to some of the veggies, flowers and herbs on sale earlier in the month, we will introduce some summer-lovin’ big boys like melons, tomatoes, eggplant, cucumbers, zucchini and basil. Whether you’re planning to plant a full veggie garden or a few pots of herbs on the patio, Holcomb Farm is where you’ll want to start.

June 15: The retail Farm Store opens to the public for the summer, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. The first week of the 20-week Summer CSA starts then, too.

June 26 at the North Barn: Farm-to-Table Family-Friendly Brunch in celebration and for the benefit of Fresh Access. Much more about this next month, but mark your calendars now.

August 20: Friends of Holcomb Farm Annual Members’ Meeting to be held at the Seat, in the East Fields. If you have contributed $25 or more in the past year, and/or are a CSA member, YOU are a member of the Friends of Holcomb Farm, and we welcome you to join us as we review the past year and discuss plans for the future.

Farmington-based artist Kate Emery’s beautiful oil paintings will be featured at the Lost Acres Vineyard Art Gallery April 29 to May 30, with all art sales benefiting Fresh Access. Submitted photo
