Learn-to-Fish Fishing Derby

For All Ages, Connecticut’s only nonprofit organization that connects the generations to combat loneliness and ageism, will host its inaugural Buddies and Bobbers Learn-to-Fish Fishing Derby on Saturday, May 22 in collaboration with and on-site at Winding Trails in Farmington.

Stroll Through Granby History awarded top honor

Salmon Brook Historical Society (SBHS) was recently notified by the Awards Committee of the Connecticut League of History Organizations (CLHO), that it has been awarded the top CLHO honor, the 2021 Award of Merit, for October’s Stroll Through Granby History initiative.

Seniors Job Bank names officers and directors

The Seniors Job Bank has chosen a leadership team to guide the non-profit into its 42nd year. The officers are President Bernie Weiss, of West Hartford, Vice President Gail Crockett, also from West Hartford, Treasurer Del Shilkret, of Granby, and Secretary Jennifer Wolfberg, of Avon.

Beginning Monday, May 3 the Granby Senior Center will begin a gradual re-opening for specific classes and programs. If a program is scheduled in the building, you will find a location under the description.

SBHS News

After COVID closure for a year, the volunteers at Salmon Brook Historical Society are back at work. The research library is open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to noon or by appointment by calling 860-653-9713.

MS Support Group

The Granby Multiple Sclerosis Support Group will resume when the Granby Senior Center reopens. Meetings are at 1 p.m. on the second and fourth Monday of each month.
