The Painting Study Group, a group of 10 Granby artists, will exhibit its oil, watercolor, acrylic and pastel paintings with the theme “For the Love of Art” from March 2 through 30 in the Simsbury Library’s Program Room during regular library hours. In addition, a display case in the library’s hallway will provide a look at how the group creates art through example sketchbooks, color studies, warm up exercises, etc.

Painting Study Group was formed in 2011 by a group of like-minded painters. The group meets regularly at members’ studios to discuss their work, support one another, share ideas and opportunities, and do critiques and challenges. Members include Carole Day, Dorothy Dumond, Carole Hartwell, Pam Jones, Suzanne Roz Magoon, Sally Sargent Markey, Rosemarie Mendes, Frances Miller, Marian Rowles and John Walker. Most of the artwork will be available for sale by contacting the artist directly.
