The third annual Connecticut North Men’s Senior Baseball League (CNMSBL) All-Star game was held on Sunday, Sept. 15, at Dunkin Donuts Park in Hartford. After a several hour rain delay, four Granby Cubs players and one coach represented the team at this year’s game. Hazen Sturtevant, Jason Mele, Jonathan Gentile, and Chris Mele were voted by their teammates to represent their team in the game and Mike Agogliati was selected as a coach representative. The Cubs played on the Americans team with other players from the Rocky Hill/Newington Caps, the Colchester Thunder, and the Bristol Mustangs. Together the team jumped out in front with seven runs in the first inning and never looked back, winning the game 8-2. This game is the CNMSBL’s biggest fundraiser and all proceeds from the game were donated to the league’s charity Wounded Warriors. The Granby Cubs thanks its 2019 “double” and “triple” sponsors: Signature Flight Support, Tim’s Automotive, Route 10 Tire, Carmon Funeral Home, and Beacon Mechanical Services. Submitted photo
