My Thoughts on Finding Inner Peace

With all the violence and hatred in our world today, how does one find inner peace? I think to myself, how does one find inner peace? I think to myself, if nations were not greedy, and if we treated each other with respect, that would be a good start for a more peaceful world.

Then, as I look out at the birds and squirrels sharing the toast and seeds I’ve offered them this late summer morning, I think, if everyone had enough food, a safe place to sleep at night, and an adequate job to support one’s family, that would go a long way in establishing a sense of peace.

In the meantime, I look to Nature— the birds, the flowers, the mountains, the oceans, and the lakes to calm my mind and refresh my soul. Seeing, or even just thinking of these things can bring some sense of peace to a weary world.
