The New England Air Museum in Windsor Locks will hold its annual Veterans Day Event, A Tribute to our Veterans, Servicemen and Servicewomen, on Sunday, Nov. 11.

Visitors to the museum will have the opportunity to meet and talk one-on-one with veterans of military conflicts. Included in the program will be re-enactors from WWI and WWII.

At 1 p.m., William Purple, a WWII B-17 pilot from the 8th Air Force, will share his story of the Feb. 3, 1945 bombing raid on Berlin. Bill was in the lead aircraft on this raid.

Visitors are encouraged to bring new personal hygiene products that will be donated to a local veteran’s home. An area will be set aside for children to make holiday cards for veterans.

The museum is open Tuesday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. during the fall and winter. Admission is $15 for ages 15 and up, $14 for seniors 65 and up and $10 for ages 4 to 11. Museum members, veterans, active duty military personnel and children under 3 are admitted free. For more information and directions to the museum, please visit neam.org or call 860-623-3305.
