Almost Sunrise Movie Screening

Wednesday, Nov. 7, 6:30 p.m. Presented by Resilience Grows Here. Almost Sunrise tells the inspiring story of two young men, Tom Voss and Anthony Anderson, who, in an attempt to put their haunting Iraq combat experiences behind them, embark on an extraordinary journey—a 2,700 mile trek on foot across America. While the film exposes some of the brutality of war, it doesn’t dwell there. It’s ultimately a story of hope and potential solutions, and reveals the promise of holistic practices for healing. The film also acts as an urgent call for communities to better understand deep-seated psychic wounds, and for the government to acknowledge and finally treat moral pain by using other methods than pills. Please join us for this 98-minute documentary and gain a better understanding of the veterans in our lives and how we can work together to serve and honor them when they come home. No charge, but please call 860-844-5352 to register.
