Foxfield F.AR.M. attends veterans’ 2018 Stand Down Day

The CT Department of Veterans Affairs in Rocky Hill sponsors an annual Stand Down Day in which 200 service support groups participate and over 1,000 veterans attend. It recognizes the value that is placed on our front line heroes by our Connecticut VA and provides charities which wish to reach our military service people directly.

Foxfield F.A.R.M. Foundation participated for a second year on Sept. 21, and was also able to connect with political allies on both sides of the aisle who vigorously champion our organization’s objectives and publicly acknowledge the value of Foxfield’s groundwork equine therapy for veterans with PTSD and related mental issues. These advocates can help to legislate the inclusion of such organic approaches for these issues under the veterans’ health care coverage and are high-profile spokespeople who can expand the awareness of the foundation’s purpose, availability and donation solicitation with the general public.

United Electric Inc supports veterans equine therapy program

Foxfield F.A.R.M. has received an in kind donation of labor and materials from United Electrical Service Inc., Simsbury, to support the organization’s Veterans and First Responders program with the installation of a mini split H/C system in the barn lounge and office. This will provide a more seasonally comfortable venue for the participants.
